TEMPO.CO, Jakarta -  Singapore's National Day Parade (NDP) returns to the National Stadium on August 9, 2026, bringing one of the country's biggest annual fireworks displays.

This year's celebrations, themed "Majulah Singapura, Go Beyond!", will feature fireworks launched from a floating platform in the Kallang Basin, marking a change from last year's Marina Bay location.

Although NDP tickets have long sold out, visitors and residents can still enjoy the fireworks from several public viewpoints around the Kallang area.

Based on recentrehearsals, smallerfireworksdisplays are expected to beginaround 7:30 p.m., with the main finale at approximately 8:10 p.m.

Here are some of the best places to watch the National Day fireworks, compiled from CNA and Her World.

Best Places to Watch the National Day Parade 2026 Fireworks

1. Stadium Riverside Walk

The Stadium Riverside Walk, also known as the Kallang Wave Walkway, is expected to be one of the closest public viewing locations. Situated just outside the National Stadium, it offers clear views of the fireworks and the parade atmosphere.

The promenade has become popular during major concerts, but it also fills up quickly during National Day celebrations. Its close proximity to the stadium also allows visitors to experience the festive atmosphere before the fireworks begin. Arriving well before sunset is recommended.

Nearest MRT: Stadium (CC6)

2. Lookout Deck at Kallang Basin

The waterfront lookout deck facing the National Stadium has been one of the busiest viewing spots during NDP rehearsals. Visitors can spread picnic mats across the lawn while enjoying unobstructed views across the basin, although some sections are partially shaded by trees.

The open waterfront setting makes it one of the most popular picnic spots for families and groups gathering ahead of the evening display.

Nearest MRT: Nicoll Highway (CC5)

3. Kallang Riverside Park

Located where the Kallang and Rochor rivers meet, this riverside park provides wide views of both the stadium and Singapore's skyline. Families often gather here for picnics before the fireworks begin.

Facilities include open lawns, walking paths, and public restrooms. The spacious park also offers plenty of room for visitors who prefer a less crowded viewing experience.

Nearest MRTs: Lavender, Kallang, Stadium, or Nicoll Highway

4. Tanjong Rhu Promenade

Stretching along the waterfront opposite the National Stadium, Tanjong Rhu Promenade offers sweeping views across Kallang Basin. The lookout tower near Tanjong Rhu MRT provides one of the area's highest public viewpoints.

The promenade is also a popular destination for evening walks, making it a convenient place to enjoy both the sunset and the fireworks.

Nearest MRT: Tanjong Rhu (TE23)

5. Water Sports Centre

Level 2 of the Water Sports Centre offers an elevated perspective over Kallang Basin and can be a quieter alternative to the crowded waterfront promenade below.

Its higher vantage point allows visitors to enjoy a broader view of both the fireworks and the surrounding city skyline.

Nearest MRT: Stadium (CC6)

6. Marina Barrage

Although farther from the stadium, Marina Barrage remains a popular National Day destination thanks to its expansive rooftop lawn. Many visitors bring picnic blankets to enjoy the sunset before watching the fireworks against Singapore's skyline.

The grassy rooftop provides ample space for families and groups, making it one of Singapore's favorite outdoor gathering spots during National Day.

7. Bay East Garden

For those seeking a more relaxed setting, Bay East Garden combines waterfront scenery with panoramic views toward the city. The park is generally less crowded than the Kallang waterfront while still offering good views of the fireworks.

Its tranquil atmosphere makes it a popular choice for visitors looking to avoid the busiest viewing areas without missing the display.

Nearest MRT: Tanjong Rhu (TE23)

8. Golden Mile Complex

The iconic Golden Mile Complex provides elevated viewing points facing Kallang Basin. While farther away from the fireworks launch site, visitors can still enjoy much of the display above the skyline.

The building's elevated position offers a different perspective of the fireworks, especially for those looking to avoid the crowds closer to the stadium.

Nearest MRT: Nicoll Highway (CC5)

9. Selected HDB Rooftops

Some public housing estates around Kallang and Bendemeer offer rooftop gardens and sky terraces with distant but elevated views of the fireworks. Popular locations shared by residents include:

  • Block 10 Bendemeer Light rooftop garden
