BMKG Forecast: Most of Jakarta Cloudy This Morning, Heavy Rain in the Afternoon

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has detected the potential of heavy rain accompanied by thunder and strong winds in most parts of Jakarta today, Wednesday, September 17, 2025. Localized rain is also expected to pour over the majority of areas in Bekasi Regency and City, Depok City, Tangerang Regency and City, South Tangerang City, as well as Bogor City and Regency.

Based on BMKG's weather forecast on Tuesday night, September 16, 2025, light rain is still expected in parts of Jakarta, except in Thousand Islands, during the midnight transition. A similar potential exists in Tangerang, South Tangerang, and Bogor as well.

From early morning until now, the weather in Jakarta and its surrounding areas tends to be partly to mostly cloudy. There is also a potential for light rain in some areas of Thousand Islands, North Jakarta, and Bekasi Regency.

Between 1:00 PM WIB (Western Indonesia Time) to 7:00 PM WIB today, there is a possibility of light rain in parts of Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, West Jakarta, and Tangerang City. At the same time, moderate to heavy rainfall is expected to pour over parts of East and South Jakarta, Depok City, as well as the areas of Bogor and Bekasi.

The air humidity in Jabodetabek (Greater Jakarta area) throughout today is predicted to range from 60 to 94 percent. The air temperature is around 24-32 degrees Celsius, except in Bogor, which is around 20-28 degrees Celsius. The maximum wind speed blowing south today reaches 19 kilometers per hour.
