TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasts that Jakarta and its surrounding areas will experience mostly partly cloudy conditions today, August 24, 2025. The potential for rain in the Greater Jakarta or Jabodetabek region is low.
According to the agency's 24-hour weather forecast, the day in Greater Jakarta will commence with partly to mostly cloudy weather from 1:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. local time. The weather will remain partly cloudy as the day progresses toward midday until 1:00 p.m.
From the afternoon into the evening, until approximately 7:00 p.m., the sky will continue to be mostly clear with some clouds. However, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in parts of Bogor and Tangerang Regencies.
Today's air temperature in the Greater Jakarta area is predicted to range from 24 to 33 degrees Celsius. In Bogor, the temperature will be slightly lower, between 22 and 32 degrees Celsius. The BMKG team anticipates that air humidity levels in Greater Jakarta will be around 55 to 75 percent throughout the day.
Based on the national weather outlook prepared by BMKG, Indonesia's weather generally features partly cloudy conditions and light rain from August 22-28. Nevertheless, residents of Banten and West Java are advised to be vigilant for an increase in moderate-intensity rain over the weekend. Both regions are directly adjacent to Jakarta.
Early and mid-next week, West Java is among the areas urged to be on alert due to the potential for heavy rainfall.
