TEMPO.COM, Jakarta -The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards lit up Los Angeles on Sunday, September 14, with a live broadcast from the Peacock Theater.
The ceremony, hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze, brought together television’s biggest stars to honor the best of the year’s programming.
Nominations were first announced on July 15 by actors Harvey Guillén and Renda Song. Apple TV+’s Severance led the field with 27 nominations, followed closely by HBO’s The Penguin with 24, and Prime Video’s The Studio with 23. Other strong contenders included The White Lotus, The Pitt, The Bear, and Abbott Elementary.
When the night unfolded, two series emerged as the biggest winners: the British crime drama Adolescence and the comedy hit The Studio.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Adolescence swept the limited series categories, winning best limited series or anthology, best actor, best supporting actor and actress, as well as best directing.
Meanwhile, Seth Rogen’s The Studio dominated the comedy side, picking up four major awards including best comedy series, best actor, and both writing and directing honors.
