TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The 2026 World Cup final is approaching. As anticipation builds for the title showdown, FIFA has revealed the final tournament’s first-ever halftime show, with Justin Bieber set to co-headline the performance on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
“The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can. I’m grateful to be part of this Halftime Show, and even more grateful knowing it’s already helping expand access to education for children around the world,” Bieber said in a statement, as quoted by Vulture.
The Canadian superstar adds another major stage to his comeback year after returning at the Grammy Awards and headlining Coachella. In 2022, the singer behind the album SWAG canceled his “Justice World Tour” midway through following a Ramsay Hunt syndrome diagnosis, beginning a three-year break from live performances.
Citing CNA, Justin Bieber will join Madonna, Shakira, and K-pop group BTS in the 11-minute musical performance curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin.
Nigerian singer-songwriter Burna Boy, Venezuelan classical conductor Gustavo Dudamel, and the PS22 Chorus — a chorus of fourth- and fifth-graders from Staten Island — featuring Coldplay will also appear in the Super Bowl-style halftime show.
The World Cup final halftime show will be shorter than recent Super Bowl performances, which usually run for around 13 to 14 minutes.
While football regulations set a maximum 15-minute halftime interval, the performance could require an extended break, raising concerns about its potential impact on players’ performance.
