TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will meet during a Singapore-Indonesia Annual Leaders' Retreat in Jakarta on July 6, 2026.

"They will also receive updates on bilateral projects undertaken since the last Leaders' Retreat in June 2025 in Singapore," according to a press release from the Singapore Prime Minister's Office on Sunday.

Furthermore, the two sides will explore mechanisms to strengthen collaboration in areas of mutual interest to Singapore and Indonesia, and exchange perspectives on regional and global developments.

This will be the second meeting between the leaders and reaffirm the deep bilateral ties between Singapore and Indonesia and the commitment of both governments to deepen bilateral cooperation.

Prime Minister Wong will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong, Coordinating Minister for Public Services and Minister for Defense Chan Shun Sing, and Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan.

Additionally, Lawrence Wong will be accompanied by Minister of Social and Family Development Masagos Zulkifli and Minister of Manpower and Minister in charge of Energy and Science & Technology Tan See Leng.

According to Indonesia's Ministry of State Secretariat, the 2025 Leaders' Retreat achieved concrete results, resulting in 19 strategic agreements across various sectors.

Last year's meeting between the two leaders witnessed the signing of five memorandums of understanding (MoUs) between Indonesia and Singapore.

The five MoUs are the "Joint Report to Leaders" of the Six Bilateral Economic Cooperation Groups; Cooperation on Food Safety and Agriculture Technology; Sustainable Industrial Zone Development Cooperation; Cross-Border Electricity Trade; as well as the Carbon Capture and Storage cooperation.
