TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah greetings to Muslims around the world, particularly to the Muslim community in Russia, which he said has played an important role in national development.
“President Vladimir Putin congratulated Russian Muslims on Eid al-Adha holiday,” said a statement released by the Kremlin and distributed via the Russian Foreign Ministry’s social media on Wednesday.
Putin said Muslims in Russia consistently uphold Islamic teachings and continue long-standing traditions inherited from their ancestors in observing Eid al-Adha as a major religious celebration.
