TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The director of PT Traze Andalan Futures, Ibrahim Assuaibi, estimates that the gold prices will reach Rp2.6-2.7 million per gram next Monday.
"If the precious metal strengthens, the first resistance is at Rp2.6 million per gram. The second resistance is at Rp2.7 million per gram," Ibrahim said in an audio statement on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
As for the gold prices this morning, it was recorded at Rp2,634,000 per gram. If it corrects next week, Ibrahim estimates the gold price will be at Rp2.5-Rp 2.6 million per gram.
For the world gold price, Ibrahim estimates it will be at US$4,276-US$4,393 per troy ounce if it corrects. If it rises, Ibrahim predicts the world gold price will be US$4,518-US$4,668 per troy ounce.
In addition to the gold price, Ibrahim estimates that the dollar index will reach 100. He predicts the dollar index will be at the level of 98.30-100.20 next week. As for the crude oil price, Ibrahim estimates it will be at the level of US$82.50-US$98.70 per barrel.
Ibrahim says there are two main factors affecting the fluctuation of gold, oil, and the dollar index. The first condition is the geopolitical factor of the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran.
According to Ibrahim, this condition has driven the rise in oil prices, pushing the price of gasoline in the United States up to US$5.85 per gallon. The rise in energy prices has the potential to keep inflation high, prompting the U.S. central bank to keep interest rates high.
The politics and policies of the United States also affect the fluctuation of gold prices and the dollar index. Ibrahim said that U.S. President Donald Trump continues to intervene in the Federal Reserve to lower interest rates. However, inflation and robust U.S. labor data have increased expectations that the Fed will raise interest rates by 25 basis points on September 16.
Furthermore, Ibrahim stated that economic surveys suggest the likelihood of this increase has increased from 52 percent to around 58 percent. Ibrahim said that the difference in interests between Trump and the Fed could potentially become a political issue in the U.S. and affect the movement of gold prices.
