TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto instructed his officials to involve the public in choosing the logo and visual identity for Indonesia's 81st Independence Day. The government, through the State Secretariat Ministry, officially launched a public opinion poll to select the Independence Day Celebration logo on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya stated that for the first time in history, the public is directly involved in determining the official logo for Indonesia's Independence Day. "Upon the President's directive, the public is actively involved in determining the logo through a public polling mechanism," Riefky said at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Wednesday afternoon.

Riefky explained that 124 entrants from various regions of Indonesia participated in the competition for the 81st Indonesian Independence Day logo. Five designers were chosen as the best finalists after going through the selection and curation process.

Then, five designers were selected as the best finalists. The public will directly choose these five works. In selecting the top five finalists, the government collaborated with the Indonesian Association of Graphic Designers (ADGI).

On the same occasion, Deputy Minister of State Secretariat Juri Ardiantoro stated that in addition to the logo polling launch, the government has also determined the official theme for the 81st Indonesian Independence Day commemoration. The theme adopted is "Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia."

"The President wants the people of Indonesia to be directly involved in determining the logo and visual representation to be used or designated as the logo for Independence Day. Therefore, the President's directive is for the excitement of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence to also belong to the people, to all Indonesian citizens," said Juri.

According to Juri, the five logo candidates were selected from the work of professional graphic designers and underwent a curation process based on compliance with the established national theme. The five finalists who can be selected by the public hail from various regions of Indonesia, namely David Wirawan from Surakarta, Fajar Novario from Padang, Kanda Putra from Denpasar, Riskiawan from Malang, and Tiffany Djohan from Batam.

The selection process for the Indonesian Independence Day logo runs from June 24 to 28, 2026. The public can participate through the official channels provided by the government, https://logohutri.istanapresiden.go.id/.
