TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Police Reform Acceleration Commission has submitted its final report in the form of the results of aspirations and recommendations to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. Commission member Mahfud MD. conveyed that the commission's official duty has ended after being formed three months ago.
"Basically, there is no other work. What else? It's already 3,000 pages (report)," said Mahfud MD in a press conference in South Jakarta, Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
Nevertheless, Mahfud revealed that Prabowo seemed to regret the end of the Police Reform Acceleration Commission's tenure. According to him, Prabowo still wants to have a follow-up meeting to discuss various future issues.
"'Oh, why is it ending already?' he said. 'We'll have another meeting, let's arrange for more interesting discussions'," Mahfud said, imitating Prabowo's words.
The Police Reform Acceleration Commission directly submitted their study results consisting of 10 volumes to Prabowo on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. In the report, the Commission also included six recommendation points in the form of options for rules and policies to improve the police institution.
Minister of Coordinating Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, and Human Rights Yusril Ihza Mahendra stated that the compiled report varies in thickness, from thousands of pages to a brief summary for the President's easy understanding.
"There are reports as thick as 3,000 pages, 300 pages, and even just three pages. So, it can be read by the President briefly for a good understanding," said Yusril at the Presidential Palace Complex, Tuesday. After receiving the report, the government will wait for the President's directions after studying all the documents submitted
