Indonesian President General (Purn) Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ) at the Presidential Flight, Abu Dhabi, on Friday (12/9/2025).
REPUBLICA.CO.ID, ABU DHABI -- Indonesian President General Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ) at the Presidential Flight, Abu Dhabi, on Friday (12/9/2025). During the fraternal meeting, the two leaders expressed their appreciation for the close ties that have been established between Indonesia and the UAE.
At the time of the meeting, Prabowo and MBZ also discussed current issues, including geopolitical escalation in the Middle East region. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed and exchanged views on the dynamics taking place.
The discussion also includes efforts that can be made in dealing with the global challenges that occur. The two leaders stressed the importance of international cooperation, particularly in the Middle East region, in strengthening international cooperation to maintain world stability and peace. Countries in the Middle East region must unite to deal with geopolitical dynamics.
In addition to talks on global dynamics, the meeting was also an opportunity to reaffirm bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various sectors. The two leaders conveyed a determination to bring bilateral relations to a closer and more productive level.
MBZ also expressed appreciation for Prabowo's visit to Abu Dhabi. As a strategic partner in the Southeast Asia region, the UAE is committed to continuing to expand cooperation with Indonesia.
At the same time, Prabowo also expressed his view of the UAE as a friend and strategic partner of Indonesia. The brief but productive meeting demonstrated the importance of direct communication between leaders in the face of global challenges.
The meeting also marked a step by Indonesia and the UAE to further strengthen the relationship between the two countries. Accompanying the President in the meeting were Foreign Minister (Menlu) Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Letkol Inf Teddy Indra Wijaya.
Earlier, Prabowo Subianto held an official meeting with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani at Lusail Palace in Doha on Friday (12/9/2025) afternoon local time. Prabowo's arrival at Lusail Palace was welcomed in person by Sheikh Tamim in the Palace's outer foyer.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere full of familiarity and concern for Israel's postwar visit to Laguna West Bay, Doha on Tuesday (9/9/2025). Beginning his meeting with Sheikh Tamim, Prabowo expressed his deep sympathy for the communities affected by the incident.
