TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto met with United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ) aboard the Presidential Flight in Abu Dhabi on Friday, September 12, 2025.
According to the Presidential Secretariat's Press, Media, and Information Bureau, the two leaders discussed a range of current issues, including escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
They exchanged views on the ongoing dynamics and explored potential efforts to address global challenges. Both leaders stressed the importance of countries, especially those in the Middle East, cooperating to strengthen international collaboration and maintain global stability and peace.
The meeting also served to reaffirm the strong bilateral partnership between Indonesia and the UAE. Both leaders expressed their commitment to elevating this relationship to a more productive level.
President MBZ conveyed his appreciation for President Prabowo's visit, emphasizing the UAE's commitment to expanding cooperation with Indonesia, a strategic partner in Southeast Asia. Similarly, President Prabowo expressed his view of the UAE as a key friend and strategic partner to Indonesia.
Accompanying President Prabowo were Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Abu Dhabi on Friday, September 12, 2025.
Upon landing, he was welcomed by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, along with several high-ranking UAE officials, including the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei; the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber; the Presidential Advisor, Faisal Al Bannai; the Minister of Investment, Mohamed Hassan Al Suwaidi; and the UAE Ambassador to Indonesia, Abdulla Salem Obaid Aldaheri.
