TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto will lead a full cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace today, Monday, July 20, 2026, as confirmed by State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi.
"InsyaAllah, this afternoon," he said in a brief message to the media this morning, referring to the cabinet meeting.
The top Gerindra Party official did not explain in detail the agenda in the upcoming meeting, but said it would be similar to regular meetings by Prabowo and his aides to discuss government programs. "We are discussing all sectors, but sometimes it requires a work performance target (SKP) mechanism," he said.
The former lawmaker said that today's cabinet meeting would encompass all government sectors, with emphasis on program acceleration efforts.
The meeting will also concern evaluations towards Prabowo's various programs, Prasetyo said.
President Prabowo last held a full cabinet meeting on Friday, March 13, 2026, attended by all members of the Red and White Cabinet: ministers, deputy ministers, heads of agencies, and the president's special advisors.
The cabinet meeting at that time discussed the government's readiness for Eid al-Fitr and various other issues.
During that occasion, Prabowo expressed his wish to engage in budget-saving efforts to anticipate crisis as a result of the Iran war, citing other countries' salary cuts for high-ranking state officials.
He specifically mentioned Pakistan, which he said equaled the Middle East crisis to the COVID-19 pandemic. "They even reduced salaries for cabinet members, for members of parliament, and all these salary savings were collected to assist the most vulnerable groups," said Prabowo at the time.
Furthermore, Prabowo also revealed during the meeting that he regularly received intelligence reports about observers who were unhappy with his government, claiming that critics were paid off by anti-establishment parties.
