For the first time in tournament history, the grand event will be jointly hosted by three countries—the United States, Mexico, and Canada—with each nation set to host an equally spectacular opening ceremony.
Featuring a star-studded lineup of global music icons, the World Cup opening ceremonies are expected to deliver an entertainment spectacle rivaling some of the world's biggest music festivals. It will take place prior to the matches, scheduled for June 11 in Mexico and June 12 in Toronto and Los Angeles.
Who’s performing at the 2026 World Cup?
Ninety minutes before the opening match between Mexico and South Africa, Estadio Azteca in Mexico City will welcome global superstars Shakira and Burna Boy to perform the tournament's official song, "Dai Dai." The pair will be joined by a star-studded lineup that includes Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, Danny Ocean, J Balvin, Lila Downs, Los Ángeles Azules, Maná, and Tyla.
Meanwhile, Canada will stage its own opening celebration at Toronto Stadium. Michael Bublé and Alanis Morissette are among the headline performers, alongside Alessia Cara, Elyanna, Jessie Reyez, Nora Fatehi, Vegedream, and William Prince. The artists are expected to energize the crowd before Canada takes on Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Los Angeles will also host a dedicated opening ceremony, featuring an international lineup that includes Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, LISA, Rema, and Tyla. According to Olympics.com, the three ceremonies are designed to celebrate the unique blend of music, culture, and football that defines the FIFA World Cup.

As the 2026 FIFA World Cup is being hosted across three nations, its opening ceremonies will follow the same trilateral format.
