TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Former Indonesian Foreign Minister Mohammad Marty Muliana Natalegawa attended a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
Tempo reported that Marty arrived at the palace at approximately 02:18 PM WIB.
Marty, who served during the Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono administration, declined to provide details about the agenda.
When asked if the discussion would cover Indonesia’s membership in the Board of Peace, he said, “I will follow the existing developments.”
He added that he holds personal views on Indonesia’s participation in the Board of Peace, an initiative led by U.S. President Donald J. Trump, but wanted to hear explanations during the meeting.
“But I want to hear the views and explanations later,” Marty said.
Former Foreign Minister Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi also attended, arriving shortly after Marty. Retno, however, declined to comment on the invitation.
Earlier reports indicated that President Prabowo had invited several former foreign ministers and deputy ministers for the meeting, which was scheduled for around 3:00 p.m. WIB.
Former Deputy Foreign Minister Dino Patti Djalal confirmed that he received an invitation and said the discussion would focus on foreign policy issues. “The information is about foreign politics, including Palestine,” Dino told Tempo.
