TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Ride-hailing company Grab Indonesia said it has distributed a total of Rp110 billion (about US$7 million) in Eid bonuses to around 400,000 driver partners ahead of the Islamic holiday.
Chief Executive Officer of Grab Indonesia, Neneng Goenadi, said the payments were completed on Monday, March 9, 2026.
“We are implementing this program responsibly while maintaining the sustainability of the ecosystem, so that Grab can continue supporting driver partners in the long term,” Neneng said in a written statement on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
The initiative follows policy guidance from Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto regarding holiday allowances and economic stimulus programs during the fasting month of Ramadan 2026.
Bonus distribution
The Eid bonus, known locally as BHR, is distributed through the digital wallet OVO for drivers whose accounts are linked to the same phone number used in the GrabDriver application.
The payments are available to both motorcycle and car drivers on the platform. Motorcycle drivers receive bonuses ranging from Rp150,000 to Rp850,000, while car drivers receive between Rp200,000 and Rp1.6 million.
Neneng said the total BHR allocation this year increased by up to three times compared with the previous year. The bonuses are distributed across seven recipient categories for both two-wheeled and four-wheeled driver segments.
Recipients are determined based on productivity and activity levels during the assessment period.
Performance-based criteria
According to Neneng, Grab uses a performance-based approach to determine eligibility. The evaluation considers several factors, including driver activity levels, number of completed orders, order completion rates, days and hours spent online, driver ratings, and compliance with service standards and the company’s code of conduct.
The approach is intended to ensure the bonuses are distributed objectively and proportionally to drivers who actively contribute to maintaining service quality on the platform.
Neneng said the company hopes the Eid bonuses will provide timely support for driver partners who have demonstrated strong performance and meaningful contributions to the Grab ecosystem, while still taking into account the company’s financial capacity.
