TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The number of Indonesian capital market investors reached 21,037,426 single investor identification (SID) as of the end of January 2026. This figure increased by 673,218 SID compared to the 20,364,208 SID at the end of 2025.
"Throughout 2025, the number of capital market investors increased by 5,492,569 SID," said Kautsar Primadi Nurahmad, Corporate Secretary of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), in an official statement, quoted on Monday, February 2, 2026.
Meanwhile, the number of stock investors was recorded at 8,980,318 SID, approaching 9 million. This number increased by 367,958 SID compared to the 8,612,360 SID at the end of 2025. Throughout 2025, stock investors increased by 2,230,916 SID.
Stock trading data on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period January 23–30, 2026, showed mixed movements. The average daily transaction value recorded the highest increase, rising 29.28 percent to Rp43.76 trillion from Rp33.85 trillion the previous week.
The average daily transaction frequency also increased 1.59 percent to 3.82 million transactions, compared to 3.76 million transactions the previous week. Meanwhile, the average daily transaction volume decreased 3.69 percent to 63.3 billion shares from 65.73 billion shares.
The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) weakened 6.94 percent during the period, closing at 8,329.606, down from 8,951.010 the previous week. Concurrently, the IDX market capitalization fell 7.37 percent to Rp15,046 trillion from Rp16,244 trillion.
Foreign investors recorded net sales of Rp1.53 trillion in today's trading. Throughout 2026, foreign investors recorded net sales of Rp9.88 trillion.
