TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Lawmaker Ahmad Sahroni will not pursue legal action against the individuals who raided his home if they voluntarily return the stolen items, announced the head of the Village Consultation Agency (LMK) of Kebon Bawang, Achmad Winarso.
"The family will not pursue legal action against individuals who willingly return the items through the North Jakarta Metro Police or directly to the family," Winarso delivered this message on behalf of Sahroni's family on Saturday, September 6, 2025.
Ahmad Sahroni's house in the Kebon Bawang Village of Tanjung Priuk, North Jakarta, was raided by a mob on Saturday afternoon, August 30, 2025. Several people forcibly entered the residence of the former Deputy Chair of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission III and took away various belongings.
The mob looted anything they could carry from Ahmad Sahroni's house. Items such as mattresses, pillows, refrigerators, washing machines, cupboards, and other household furniture were taken. Additionally, luxury watches, a simulator, bags, branded belts, and important documents like family cards and diplomas disappeared from the house.
The Chief of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the North Jakarta Metro Police, Commissioner Onkoseno Gradiarso Suhahar, stated that 32 items belonging to Ahmad Sahroni have been voluntarily returned by the public.
"A total of 32 items belonging to Ahmad Sahroni, which were looted from his residence, have now been returned," he confirmed on Saturday.
The North Jakarta Metro Police facilitated the return of these items to Ahmad Sahroni's family, represented by Achmad Winarso. "The items were voluntarily handed over to the North Jakarta Metro Police by the public," Onkoseno stated.
According to him, this positive cooperation and communication led to some of the items being returned and officially handed over to the family. "We appreciate the cooperative attitude of the public and their commitment to maintaining security, order, and building good synergy between the community, the police, and the victim's family," he said.
Ahmad Sahroni's Suspension and Disappearance
Ahmad Sahroni's current whereabouts remain unknown. Since his house was raided, he has not made a public appearance. The Secretary-General of the NasDem Party, Hermawi Taslim, stated that they do not know Sahroni's location. "We have not received any information about his location," he said in a written message on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
Meanwhile, the NasDem Party has suspended Ahmad Sahroni as a DPR member. As a suspended DPR member, Sahroni will not receive financial benefits such as his salary and allowances.
