TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The surge in Pertamax fuel prices has relatively limited impact on inflation, according to Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa.
Speaking at the parliament complex in Jakarta on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, the Indonesian minister said that the impact would be minimal since Pertamax is not used for "freight and public transportation," as quoted from Antara.
Meanwhile, Purbaya remained mum on the subsidized fuel quota mechanism, directing the queries to Bahlil Lahadalia, the country's Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources.
Earlier, the subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina Patra Niaga announced the increase in the prices of Pertamax and Pertamax Green fuel products starting from June 10, 2026.
According to a press release received in Jakarta yesterday, the price of non-subsidized Pertamax fuel (RON 92) will rise from Rp12,300 to Rp16,250 per liter and Pertamax Green 95 (RON 95) is up from Rp12,900 to Rp17,000 per liter per June 10.
"The adjustment of the prices for Pertamax and Pertamax Green is done after going through an evaluation process according to the price formula set by the government," said Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Roberth MV Dumatubun
Roberth conveyed that the prices of other Pertamina fuel products besides Pertamax and Pertamax Green have not increased. Subsidized fuel oil such as Pertalite remains at a selling price of Rp10,000 per liter and Biosolar is still priced at Rp6,800 per liter.
Meanwhile, the prices of non-subsidized fuel products include Pertamax Turbo (RON 98) remaining at Rp20,750 per liter, Dexlite (CN 51) remaining at Rp23,000 per liter, and Pertamina Dex (CN 53) remaining at Rp24,800 per liter.
