TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Investigators from the National Police's Narcotics Crimes Directorate in Jakarta on Monday, June 8, questioned the management of the Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) regarding the promotion of "Whip Pink" branded nitrous oxide (N2O) gas.
Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of Narcotics Crimes at the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim), stated that the investigation remains tightly focused on probing the sales and promotion of Whip Pink.
"Today, Monday, June 8, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., investigators from Sub-Directorate III of the Narcotics Crimes Directorate will question DWP management regarding the Whip Pink sales promotion in conjunction with the 2023 DWP event," Eko said.
Following the questioning, he noted that the DWP management expressed their willingness to cooperate and provide further information to Bareskrim.
Previously, on Friday evening, June 5, investigators from Sub-Directorate III questioned a social media influencer with the initials ZNM (20) regarding a similar matter.
ZNM was grilled for six hours and faced 30 questions regarding the use of Whip Pink, which went viral on the Instagram account Makassar Inpo, alongside another witness identified by the initials APG.
During the interrogation, ZNM admitted to using Whip Pink for the first time while vacationing in Bali. "ZNM purchased Whip Pink in Jakarta and Makassar," Eko added.
The interrogation also revealed that the influencer's motive for purchasing the gas stemmed from curiosity after being introduced to it by a friend. "The witness's statement regarding the immediate effects after using Whip Pink included headaches and experiencing highs," he said.
In this case, one of the witnesses' friends, who also consumed the substance, is currently suffering from temporary paralysis.
Prior to this, the National Police's Narcotics Directorate had summoned five individuals as witnesses in the case against the Whip Pink N2O gas manufacturer: RV (29, North Jakarta), AM (29, Tangerang), CD (29, Jakarta), APG (21, Makassar), and ZNM (20, Makassar).
In April 2026, the National Police's Narcotics Directorate successfully uncovered a clandestine factory producing Whip Pink N2O gas in Jakarta.
Interrogations of nine arrested suspects revealed that the manufacturer, PT SSS, did not possess the required legal documentation or distribution permits from the Food and Drug Authority (BPOM) to produce and market Whip Pink N2O gas.
Furthermore, the owners of the Whip Pink production site and shipping warehouse have been identified as AH, SC, and JH. The Whip Pink network spans across 10 cities, utilizing 16 warehouses located in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and Lombok.
Whip Pink is a commercial brand of small gas canisters containing nitrous oxide or dinitrogen oxide (N2O), a substance commonly known as "laughing gas."
