TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – American rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, is bringing his signature Dome Stage concept to Indonesia for his first-ever concert in the country.
The massive stage installation will become the centerpiece of “Ye Live in Jakarta,” scheduled for October 24, 2026, at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium.
Unlike a conventional concert setup where the artist performs from a front-facing stage, the Dome Stage is designed as an immersive structure that surrounds the performer and creates a 360-degree viewing experience for audiences.
What Is Ye’s Dome Stage?
The Dome Stage is a large-scale circular stage concept developed as part of Ye’s visual and artistic identity for his live performances.
The installation is built around a dome-shaped structure that allows the audience to view the performance from multiple angles. Instead of positioning fans only in front of the stage, the design places the performance area at the center, creating a more immersive connection between Ye and the crowd.
For the Jakarta concert, Raw Vision Collective said the stage will be installed at GBK Stadium with a 360-degree configuration, allowing audiences across different seating areas to experience the show.
How Does the Dome Stage Change the Concert Experience?
Traditional stadium concerts typically use a main stage at one end of the venue, meaning audiences farther away or positioned at the sides may have limited views.
The Dome Stage aims to change that experience by making the performance space more interactive and accessible from various directions.
The large-scale structure is designed to blur the distance between performer and audience, turning the concert into a visual and theatrical experience rather than only a music performance.
“Every YE concert is designed as an experience, not merely a music performance. We want audiences in Jakarta to feel the same immersive, spectacular, and unforgettable experience,” said Karen Tjahja, Marketing and Communications Lead at Raw Vision Collective.
Why Is the Dome Stage Important for Ye’s Concerts?
Ye has long been known for combining music with ambitious visual concepts, stage designs, and large-scale production elements.
The Dome Stage reflects his approach to concerts as a form of artistic expression, where lighting, architecture, and audience placement become part of the overall performance.
For “Ye Live in Jakarta,” the promoter said the stage concept is expected to match the scale of GBK Stadium, which has a capacity of more than 77,000 spectators.
