TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - In 2026, 80 countries and territories have at least one billionaire on the global rankings, slightly up from 78 the previous year according to Forbes.

Regionally, the Asia-Pacific leads with 1,229 billionaires, followed by the Americas with 1,186, Europe with 875, and the Middle East & Africa with 138. The United States continues to dominate the billionaire landscape with a record 989 billionaires worth a combined $8.4 trillion, including 15 of 20 richest people in the world (note: masih dalam bentuk gdocs) such as Elon Musk.

China ranks second globally with 539 billionaires worth about $2.2 trillion, the highest number the country has recorded to date. India follows with 229 billionaires worth roughly $1 trillion, fueled by a strong year for the country’s stock market.
