TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bank Mandiri is preparing Rp44 trillion in cash to meet the needs of customers during Ramadan and Eid this year. The funds will be used to stock Automatic Teller Machines and Cash Recycle Machines (ATM/CRMs) from February 24 to March 25, 2026.

This allocation represents a 5 percent increase compared to last year’s Ramadan period, when the bank distributed Rp41.9 trillion. The rise reflects expectations of higher transaction volumes during the holy month and the peak of the annual Eid al-Fitr exodus.

“This cash provision demonstrates Bank Mandiri’s commitment to maintaining integrated synergy across our service network, ensuring that the public’s transaction needs during Ramadan and Eid are met optimally,” said Corporate Secretary of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk, Adhika Vista, in an official statement on Thursday, February 26, 2026.

Adhika explained that daily cash demand during Ramadan is projected to reach Rp 1 trillion to Rp 1.4 trillion, driven by increased consumption, salary disbursements, Eid allowances for civil servants, and heightened public mobility ahead of Eid.

These estimates are based on historical transaction patterns and domestic economic growth trends during Ramadan and Eid.

In addition to physical cash, Bank Mandiri is preparing Rp 18 trillion in liquidity in its Bank Indonesia Real Time Gross Settlement (BI-RTGS) account to support smooth non-cash transactions. This is in anticipation of the March 18–25 period, when daily transactions are expected to reach approximately Rp2.5 trillion.

The bank is also ensuring the reliability of its IT network. A 24-hour monitoring team has been established to manage the surge in transactions across all electronic payment channels.

To further support customer access, Bank Mandiri is ensuring that all machines operate optimally during the Eid holiday. Currently, the bank operates 12,900 ATMs/CRMs and 322,000 Electronic Data Capture (EDC) machines across Indonesia.
