TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The highly anticipated game Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) will debut its gameplay footage trailer on Netflix’s streaming platform before being released more widely across other platforms.
According to a report by Engadget on Thursday, August 6, Netflix announced that the trailer, titled “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look,” will premiere on August 27 at 3 p.m. ET, or 2 a.m. Jakarta time on August 28.
The footage will be available exclusively on Netflix for six hours before being released through Rockstar Games’ official YouTube channel at 9 p.m. ET, or 8 a.m. Jakarta time, on the same day.
The trailer is expected to offer a closer look at the gameplay of GTA VI, which has become one of the most anticipated video game releases in recent years.
Developed and published by Rockstar Games, GTA VI is set to become one of the biggest game launches of the year. Rockstar has announced that the title will be released on November 19.
A New Era in Vice City
GTA VI takes players to Leonida, a fictional state inspired by Florida, United States. The game will feature Vice City, the iconic location previously introduced in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
While bringing back the famous city, Rockstar Games is expanding the game’s world with a wider range of regions that players can explore. The map is expected to be the largest in Grand Theft Auto history.
Each area will feature different environments, cultures, and challenges, offering a more diverse gameplay experience compared with previous installments.
Unlike previous GTA games that focused on three protagonists, GTA VI will introduce two main characters: Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval.
The two characters are portrayed as a romantic couple involved in criminal activities who must work together to survive after a bank robbery they carried out ends in failure.
The storyline marks a new direction for the franchise, combining Rockstar’s signature open-world crime narrative with a dual-protagonist approach.
