TEMPO.COJakarta -  The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) reported widespread flooding and landslides affecting seven regencies and cities in Bali Province. The agency has identified more than 120 flood points and 18 landslide points across the island as of Thursday, September 11, 2025.

"The highest number of flooded areas is in Denpasar City with 81 points," stated Abdul Muhari, Head of the BNPB's Data, Information, and Disaster Communication Center, in a written release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Gianyar Regency recorded 14 flood points, Badung Regency had 12, Tabanan Regency had 8, and both Karangasem and Jembrana Regencies each had 4. In Klungkung Regency, the floods specifically affected the Dawan District.

Abdul Muhari also mentioned that landslides occurred at 12 points in Karangasem Regency, 5 points in Gianyar Regency, and 1 point in Badung Regency. "Emergency response efforts are still being carried out by various parties in each region with the assistance of the Bali Provincial Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) and BNPB," he said.

Severe floods struck several areas in Bali following heavy rain on Tuesday night, September 9, 2025. By Wednesday, September 10, 2025, BNPB had recorded that 202 households, or 620 people, were affected by the floods.

As a result, many Bali residents were forced to evacuate as their homes remained submerged, and the floods caused extensive damage to various buildings and public facilities.

BNPB reported that water levels in Bali's rivers returned to normal as of 9:00 p.m. local time on Wednesday. "These floods were caused by very high rainfall," said BNPB Head, Lieutenant General Suharyanto.

The high-intensity rain that poured over the island, particularly in Denpasar City, lasted for more than 24 hours starting early Tuesday, September 9, 2025. The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) stated that rainfall in Bali on Tuesday and Wednesday reached 385.5 mm, which is more than twice the extreme rainfall limit of 150 mm per day.

These figures were reported by the Bali Climatology Station in Jembrana. Additionally, the Denpasar Geophysics Station reported rainfall of 188.4 mm.

Previously, in a weekly weather outlook released on Monday, BMKG had revealed that Bali was one of the areas that needed to be on alert from September 9-11, 2025. Early weather warnings were issued due to the potential for heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds.
