TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Iranian Red Crescent reported on Monday, March 2, 2026, that the death toll from US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran since Saturday has risen to 555, marking the third day of casualties.

The joint strikes targeted 131 residential areas across the country, according to a statement cited by Fars News Agency and reported by Anadolu. While the statement confirmed the number of fatalities, it did not provide updated figures on injuries.

According to Mehr News Agency, as reported by Al Jazeera, at least 35 people were killed Monday morning in Fars province, southern Iran, while more than 20 died in an attack at Niloofar Square in Tehran.

Fars News Agency also reported at least two deaths in Sanandaj, central Iran, after several residential buildings near the city’s police headquarters were destroyed. Tasnim News Agency said US and Israeli forces launched six missiles in various parts of the city, including densely populated neighborhoods.

Authorities confirmed that the death toll from Israel’s attack on a girls’ school in Minab on Saturday has risen to 180.

Hossein Kermanpour, head of public relations at the Iranian Ministry of Health, added that a similar type of missile struck Gandhi Hospital in Tehran on Sunday, causing severe damage and prompting the evacuation of patients.

The previous casualty figures, announced by the Iranian Red Crescent on Saturday, reported 201 deaths and 747 injuries.

The joint US-Israel military campaign launched against Iran on Saturday has killed several senior Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In response, Tehran retaliated with drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, US assets, and Gulf states.
