TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Dubai-based airline, Emirates, expects its full flight network to gradually resume normal operations in the coming days as regional airspace reopens. Under normal conditions, Emirates operates flights to 140 destinations worldwide.
As reported by Gulf News on Friday, March 6, 2026, an Emirates spokesperson stated that the airline anticipates the return of 100 percent of its flight network in the next few days, subject to the availability of airspace and the fulfillment of all operational requirements. "Safety, as ever, remains paramount as is our duty of care," the spokesperson said.
Emirates had temporarily halted its flight operations as the Middle Eastern airspace was closed amid the United States-Israel conflict with Iran. Passengers with scheduled flights were given the option to receive a refund or reschedule their flights.
Bali-Dubai Flights
The Emirates spokesperson mentioned that they are currently operating with significantly reduced flight schedules while gradually restoring services. On March 7, Emirates estimated to operate 106 daily round-trip flights to 83 destinations, representing nearly 60 percent of its global route network.
Among these flights is the route to Indonesia. Emirates has already started flying from Bali to Denpasar since Thursday, March 5, 2026, according to Antara. The departing aircraft had stayed overnight at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport since February 28, stated Communication and Legal Division Head of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Gede Eka Sandi Asmadi.
Conversely, the flight from Dubai to Denpasar with flight number EK-368 also landed in Bali at 16:30 WITA (UTC+8) on Friday, March 6, 2026, using an A-380 fleet.
On Thursday, the airline transported around 30,000 passengers out of Dubai as it attempted to manage travel disruptions following recent disturbances. Customers with existing bookings were prioritized for available seats as the airline gradually restores capacity. Passengers were also advised to proceed to the airport only if their bookings had been confirmed.
Etihad Continues Limited Flights
Another United Arab Emirates airline, Etihad Airways, announced the continuation of limited flight schedules from Abu Dhabi on Friday, March 6, 2026. The airline is now operating to 70 destinations worldwide, as reported by Gulf News.
The Abu Dhabi-based airline stated that flights will run between March 6 and March 19, in line with a gradual return to stability. The latest schedule includes flights to major centers in Europe, Asia, North America, Africa, and the Middle East. Key destinations include London, New York City, Paris, Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo, and Toronto, along with several regional routes.
