Two Drug Kingpins Payoffs to the Bima Police Chief

TEMPO.COJakarta - Walking past a line of journalists who had been waiting since morning, former Bima City Police Chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Didik Putra Kuncoro kept his head down and remained silent on Thursday, February 19, 2026. That afternoon, Didik had just completed a hearing before the National Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) at the Transnational Crime Center building at National Police Headquarters in South Jakarta.

Didik faced three alleged ethics violations. First, he was accused of soliciting and accepting money from narcotics traffickers through his subordinate, Bima City Narcotics Unit Chief Adj. Comr. Malaungi. Second, the 2004 Police Academy graduate was alleged to have possessed and used narcotics. Finally, he was accused of sexual misconduct.

The ethics commission hearing handed Didik a dishonorable discharge. National Police Public Information Bureau Chief Brig. Gen. Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko said all three allegations were proven during the ethics hearing. “And the violator has accepted the ruling,” he said after the session.

Seven hours before the verdict was delivered, Didik denied involvement in a drug network. The explanation came in a letter read by his lawyer, Rofiq Ashari, before the hearing. The stamped letter was handwritten by Didik the previous day.
