TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has instructed the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) to swiftly find the victims of the Bali flood who are still missing. Currently, at least six people have not been located since the major flood caused by extreme rainfall started in the early hours of Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

Head of BNPB, Lieutenant General Suharyanto, stated that he has coordinated with President Prabowo regarding the disaster. "On the President's orders, he instructed me to find the missing victims as soon as possible. Then, for those who have evacuated, their basic needs should not be reduced," Suharyanto said in a written statement on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

Suharyanto mentioned that the search had been conducted until Wednesday at 19:00 local time. However, six missing victims have not been found. BNPB, along with a joint team from other institutions, will continue the search today. In addition, they will also carry out the cleaning of remaining flood debris.

He stated that this flood disaster was caused by Rossby Waves and Kelvin Waves. Currently, the water levels of several rivers have returned to normal.

At present, Suharyanto mentioned that the water levels in Bali rivers have returned to normal since 21:00 local time yesterday. "This flood was caused by very high rainfall," he said.

A major flood hit several points in Bali after extreme rainfall on Tuesday night, September 9, 2025. Until Wednesday, September 10, 2025, BNPB recorded that a total of 202 households or 620 individuals were affected by the flood.

BNPB revealed that currently there are nine fatalities due to the Bali flood. This data was updated on Wednesday night, September 10, 2025, at 18:45 local time.
